A double-fetch vulnerability was discovered on Samsung mobile devices with N(7.X) and O(8.X) software running on Exynos chipsets (7570, 7870, 7880, 7885, 8890, 8895, and 9810). The vulnerability was identified in April 2019 with Samsung ID SVE-2019-13910 (CVE Details, MITRE).

Technical details

The vulnerability exists in the Trustlet component and allows arbitrary TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) code execution. The issue was assigned CVE-2019-20610 and was officially recorded on March 23, 2020 (MITRE).

Impact

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code within the TEE (Trusted Execution Environment), which is a secure area of the main processor designed to guarantee code and data loaded inside to be protected (CVE Details).
