Overview

GitLab Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 12.6 and later through 12.7.2 were found to be vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack through abuse of AsciiDoc includes. The vulnerability was discovered and responsibly reported by @kgadyrka, and was subsequently patched in GitLab versions 12.7.4, 12.6.6, and 12.5.9 released on January 30, 2020 (GitLab Release).

The vulnerability stems from improper handling of AsciiDoc includes functionality, which could be exploited to cause a denial of service condition in the affected GitLab installations (GitLab Release).
