CVE-2022-42419: 
PDF-XChange Editor vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2022-42419) was discovered in PDF-XChange Editor, specifically related to TIF file parsing. The vulnerability was reported on September 28, 2022, and publicly disclosed on October 7, 2022. The issue affects installations of PDF-XChange Editor and requires user interaction for exploitation (Zero Day Initiative).

The vulnerability stems from a flaw in the parsing of TIF files within PDF-XChange Editor. When processing crafted TIF files, the application can trigger a write past the end of an allocated buffer (out-of-bounds write). PDF-XChange has released an update to address this vulnerability. Users are advised to update to the latest version of PDF-XChange Editor (Zero Day Initiative).
