CVE-2022-47441: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

An unauthenticated Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the Charitable Donations & Fundraising Team Donation Forms WordPress plugin, affecting versions 1.7.0.10 and below. The vulnerability was initially reported on December 15, 2022, and was publicly disclosed on April 19, 2023 (Patchstack Database).

The vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2022-47441 and has received varying CVSS severity ratings. The National Vulnerability Database (NVD) assigned it a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 (Medium) with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it at 7.1 (High) with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site, potentially compromising user security and website integrity (Patchstack Database).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.7.0.11 of the Charitable plugin. Users are advised to update to this version or later immediately. For users unable to update immediately, Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking potential attacks (Patchstack Database).
