CVE-2022-4839: 
NixOS vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in GitHub repository usememos/memos prior to version 0.9.1. The vulnerability was identified and assigned CVE-2022-4839 on December 29, 2022 (CVE-MITRE).

The vulnerability was identified in the renderer component of the memos application. The issue stemmed from improper handling of user input in the markdown parsing functionality, specifically in how the application processed and rendered markdown content (GitHub-Commit).

The vulnerability could allow attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of other users' browsers who view the stored malicious content, potentially leading to account compromise, data theft, or other malicious actions.

The vulnerability was fixed in version 0.9.1 of the memos application. Users should upgrade to this version or later to protect against this security issue. The fix involved modifying the markdown renderer to properly handle and sanitize user input (GitHub-Commit).
