CVE-2023-2224: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2023-2224 affects the Seo By 10Web WordPress plugin versions below 1.2.7. The vulnerability was discovered and publicly disclosed on May 10, 2023. The issue affects the plugin's sitemap functionality and allows high-privilege users to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks (WPScan).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue with a CVSS score of 3.4 (Low). The root cause is insufficient sanitization and escaping of settings in the plugin's sitemap section, which becomes exploitable even when the unfiltered_html capability is disallowed, such as in multisite setups (WPScan).

The vulnerability allows authenticated users with administrative privileges to inject and store malicious JavaScript code in the plugin's settings. This stored XSS can then execute when other users access the affected pages, potentially leading to session hijacking, credential theft, or other client-side attacks (WPScan).
