CVE-2023-22690: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the Shopfiles Ltd Ebook Store WordPress plugin, affecting versions 5.775 and below. The vulnerability was reported on January 12, 2023, and was publicly disclosed on April 19, 2023. This security issue received the identifier CVE-2023-22690 and requires administrator-level authentication to exploit (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, categorized under CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). The vulnerability could allow a malicious actor with administrator privileges to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would then be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability was fixed in version 5.78 of the Ebook Store plugin. Users are advised to update to version 5.78 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users have the additional option to enable auto-updates for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
