CVE-2023-23708: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Themeisle Visualizer: Tables and Charts Manager for WordPress plugin versions 3.9.4 and below. The vulnerability was identified on January 11, 2023, and was assigned CVE-2023-23708. The issue affects authenticated users with contributor or higher privileges (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) by NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. Patchstack has assigned a slightly higher CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability is classified under CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website, which will be executed when guests visit the site. The impact is considered to have low severity and is unlikely to be exploited (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 3.9.5 of the plugin. Users are advised to update to version 3.9.5 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users can enable auto-update for vulnerable plugins as an additional security measure (Patchstack).
