CVE-2023-24781
PHP vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Overview

Funadmin v3.2.0 contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the selectFields parameter at \member\MemberLevel.php. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on March 7, 2023 (NVD, GitHub Issue).

Technical details

The vulnerability exists in the MemberLevel.php controller file where the selectFields parameter is processed without proper input validation. The issue occurs when the parameter is passed to the selectList method in Curd.php trait and then to BaseQuery.php's field method, where it is directly concatenated into SQL queries without sanitization (GitHub Issue).

Impact

A successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary SQL commands on the underlying database, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data manipulation, or information disclosure.

Mitigation and workarounds

As of the disclosure date, there is no official patch available. System administrators should implement additional input validation and sanitization at the application layer, or consider restricting access to the affected endpoint until a fix is available.
