CVE-2023-3051: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Page Builder by AZEXO plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2023-3051) discovered in versions up to and including 1.27.133. The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'azh_post' shortcode functionality (NVD, WPScan).

The vulnerability stems from improper validation and escaping of the attributes in the azh_post shortcode before outputting them back into the page. The issue has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 5.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (NVD).

This vulnerability allows users with contributor-level privileges to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These injected scripts will execute whenever any user, including administrators, accesses the compromised page. This could potentially lead to unauthorized actions being performed with the privileges of the visiting users (WPScan).

As of the vulnerability disclosure, users should update to a version newer than 1.27.133 if available. If an update is not possible, it is recommended to restrict access to the plugin's functionality to trusted users only and carefully monitor any content created using the azh_post shortcode (NVD).
