CVE-2023-32106: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

An unauthorized Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the Fahad Mahmood WP Docs WordPress plugin versions 1.9.9 and below. The vulnerability was reported by Le Ngoc Anh on April 24, 2023, and was officially published on May 3, 2023. This security issue was assigned CVE-2023-32106 and affects all versions of the plugin up to version 1.9.9 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 (Medium) by NVD with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. Patchstack assigned a slightly higher CVSS score of 7.1 (High). The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 2.0.0 of the WP Docs plugin. Users are advised to update to version 2.0.0 or later to resolve the vulnerability. Patchstack has also issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking potential attacks until users can update to the fixed version (Patchstack).
