WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the RedNao Donations Made Easy – Smart Donations WordPress plugin affecting versions 4.0.12 and below. The vulnerability was reported on March 27, 2023, and publicly disclosed on May 12, 2023 (Patchstack Report).

The vulnerability is classified as a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue (CWE-79) that can be exploited without authentication. This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website, which would be executed when visitors access the site.
