CVE-2023-38476: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Auth. (admin+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in SuiteDash :: ONE Dashboard® Client Portal : SuiteDash Direct Login plugin versions 1.7.6 and earlier. The vulnerability was reported on January 6, 2023, and published on July 20, 2023 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue (CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). According to the CVSS 3.1 scoring, it received a base score of 4.8 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. Patchstack assessed it slightly higher at 5.9 (Medium) with the vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website which will be executed when guests visit the site. The impact is considered low to medium severity as it requires high privileges to exploit (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 1.8.0 of the plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.8.0 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users can enable auto-update for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
