An Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) vulnerability was discovered in gugoan Economizzer commit 3730880 (April 2023) and v.0.9-beta1. The vulnerability allows any unauthenticated attacker to access cash book entry attachments of any other user by simply knowing the attachment ID (GitHub Research, NVD).
The vulnerability was discovered in July 2023 by Florian Walter. The issue manifests when accessing attachment URLs in the format '/attachment/4/.jpg'. Even after logging out, users can still access attachments belonging to other users by directly accessing these URLs. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 3.7 LOW (Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N) (NVD).
The vulnerability allows unauthorized access to sensitive financial documents and attachments belonging to other users of the Economizzer platform. This could lead to the exposure of private financial information and documents that users have uploaded alongside their cash book entries (GitHub Research).
