CVE-2023-49767: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Biteship: Plugin Ongkos Kirim Kurir Instant, Reguler, Kargo WordPress plugin, identified as CVE-2023-49767. The vulnerability affects versions up to 2.2.24 and was disclosed on December 4, 2023. This security flaw allows for Stored XSS attacks in the WordPress plugin (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79). It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 4.8 (MEDIUM) from NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it with a slightly higher score of 5.9 (MEDIUM) with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site, potentially compromising user security and website integrity (Patchstack).

Users are advised to update to version 2.2.28 or later to resolve the vulnerability. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking potential attacks until users can update to a fixed version (Patchstack).
