CVE-2023-49851: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Missing Authorization vulnerability was identified in ILMDESIGNS Square Thumbnails WordPress plugin, tracked as CVE-2023-49851. The vulnerability affects versions through 1.1.1 and was discovered by researcher Nguyen Xuan Chien on June 20, 2023, with public disclosure occurring on December 7, 2023. The vulnerability allows exploiting incorrectly configured access control security levels (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Broken Access Control issue, which stems from missing authorization, authentication, or nonce token checks in certain functions. This security flaw received a CVSS score of 5.3 (Medium severity) and is categorized under the OWASP Top 10 category A5: Broken Access Control (Patchstack).
