CVE-2023-5237: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Memberlite Shortcodes WordPress plugin before version 1.3.9 contains a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability identified as CVE-2023-5237. The vulnerability was discovered on September 19, 2023, publicly disclosed on October 9, 2023, and affects WordPress installations using the Memberlite Shortcodes plugin. The security flaw allows users with contributor-level privileges to inject malicious scripts through shortcode attributes ([CLEANTALK], [WPSCAN]).

The vulnerability stems from improper validation and escaping of shortcode attributes before they are output back in the page.
