CVE-2024-22307: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in WP Lab's WP-Lister Lite for eBay WordPress plugin, affecting versions up to 3.5.7. The vulnerability was identified on January 17, 2024, and publicly disclosed on January 19, 2024 (Patchstack). The issue has been assigned CVE-2024-22307 and allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts into web pages.

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79). It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 (Medium) from NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it with a higher CVSS score of 7.1 (High) with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the affected website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the compromised site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 3.5.8 of the WP-Lister Lite for eBay plugin. Users are advised to update to this version or later immediately. Additionally, Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking potential attacks until users can update to the fixed version (Patchstack).
