CVE-2024-37262: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in vCita.Com Online Booking & Scheduling Calendar for WordPress plugin, affecting versions through 4.4.2. The vulnerability was reported on May 23, 2024, by researcher Le Ngoc Anh and was assigned CVE-2024-37262 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 MEDIUM from NVD (Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N) and 7.1 HIGH from Patchstack (Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L) (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website which will be executed when guests visit the site. The attack requires user interaction and can potentially lead to compromise of confidentiality and integrity of the affected system (Patchstack).

Users are advised to update to version 4.4.3 or later to resolve this vulnerability. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking any attacks until users update to a fixed version (Patchstack).
