CVE-2024-51578: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Luca Paggetti's 3D Presentation WordPress plugin version 1.0 and earlier. The vulnerability was reported on October 21, 2024, and publicly disclosed on October 31, 2024. This security issue affects all versions of the 3D Presentation plugin up to version 1.0 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and allows for Stored XSS attacks. It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) from NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it with a slightly higher score of 6.5 (Medium) with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site (Patchstack).

As of the disclosure date, no official fix has been made available for this vulnerability. The issue was reported to have a low priority for virtual patching (Patchstack).
