CVE-2024-51718: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Simple Modal WordPress plugin contains a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-51718) affecting versions up to and including 0.3.3. The vulnerability was discovered by João Pedro Soares de Alcântara and publicly disclosed on November 4, 2024. The issue stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin's functionality (WPScan).

The vulnerability is classified as a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue with a CVSS score of 6.1 (medium severity). It falls under the OWASP Top 10 category A7: Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) and is identified as CWE-79.
