CVE-2024-5601: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Create by Mediavine WordPress plugin contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-5601) in versions up to and including 1.9.7. The vulnerability exists in the plugin's Schema Meta shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes (Wordfence).

The vulnerability is classified as a Cross-Site Scripting (CWE-79) issue, specifically involving improper neutralization of input during web page generation. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 5.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, indicating that the vulnerability requires low attack complexity but also requires user interaction and privileged access (NVD).
