CVE-2024-8267: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Radio Player – Live Shoutcast, Icecast and Any Audio Stream Player for WordPress plugin is affected by a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-8267). The vulnerability exists in versions up to and including 2.0.78, specifically within the 'align' attribute of the 'wp:radio-player' Gutenberg block. This security issue was disclosed on September 24, 2024 (NVD).

The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the plugin's handling of the 'align' attribute within the 'wp:radio-player' Gutenberg block. The issue has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79: Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (NVD).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page, potentially leading to unauthorized data access or manipulation of user interactions (NVD).

The vulnerability has been addressed in subsequent versions after 2.0.78. Users are advised to update their Radio Player plugin to the latest available version to mitigate this security risk (WordPress Plugin).
