CVE-2025-22680: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Ad Inserter Pro WordPress plugin versions through 2.7.39. The vulnerability was identified on February 3, 2025, and assigned CVE-2025-22680. This security issue affects the web page generation functionality in Ad Inserter Pro plugin, allowing potential reflected XSS attacks (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.1 (HIGH) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires no authentication to exploit and can be triggered remotely, though it requires user interaction to be successful (NVD, Patchstack).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability was initially reported by security researcher Trương Hữu Phúc on January 15, 2025. Patchstack issued early warnings to their customers on February 3, 2025, before the public disclosure on February 5, 2025 (Patchstack).
