WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in GT3 Photo Gallery Photo Gallery - GT3 Image Gallery & Gutenberg Block Gallery through version 2.7.7.24. The vulnerability was discovered on January 31, 2025, and publicly disclosed on February 3, 2025 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue with a CVSS v3.1 Base Score of 7.1 HIGH (Vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L). The vulnerability falls under the CWE-79 category (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and allows for Reflected XSS attacks (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website which will be executed when guests visit the site.
