CVE-2025-3704: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been discovered in DBAR Productions Volunteer Sign Up Sheets WordPress plugin affecting all versions before 5.5.5. The vulnerability was discovered and reported on May 27, 2025 (Patchstack, NVD).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) issue. It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.9 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability requires high privileges and user interaction to be exploited (NVD, Wiz).

This vulnerability could allow a malicious actor with administrator privileges to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would then be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 5.5.5. Users are advised to update to version 5.5.5 or later. The patch is available exclusively on GitHub at https://github.com/dbarproductions/pta-volunteer-sign-up-sheets, as the vendor is experiencing difficulties using SVN to deploy to the WordPress.org repository (Patchstack).
