CVE-2025-43250: 
macOS vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2025-43250 is a path handling vulnerability discovered in Apple's macOS operating systems. The vulnerability was disclosed on July 29, 2025, affecting multiple versions of macOS including Sequoia, Sonoma, and Ventura. The issue was identified by security researchers Mickey Jin (@patch1t) and Yuebin Sun (@yuebinsun2020) (Apple Support, NVD).

The vulnerability is classified as a path handling issue in the SharedFileList component of macOS. When exploited, this vulnerability allows a malicious application to break out of its sandbox environment, potentially gaining access to resources and data that should be restricted (Apple Support, Apple Support, Apple Support).

Apple has addressed this vulnerability by implementing improved validation in the following macOS versions: macOS Sequoia 15.6, macOS Sonoma 14.7.7, and macOS Ventura 13.7.7. Users are advised to update their systems to these patched versions (Apple Support, Apple Support, Apple Support).
