CVE-2025-49309: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A stored Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in HT Plugins HT Team Member WordPress plugin affecting versions up to 1.1.7. The vulnerability was reported on May 26, 2025, and publicly disclosed on June 5, 2025 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) with a CVSS v3.1 score of 6.5 (Medium). The attack vector is network-based (AV:N) with low attack complexity (AC:L), requiring low privileges (PR:L) and user interaction (UI:R). The scope is changed (S:C) with low impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability (C:L/I:L/A:L) (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when visitors access the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.1.8 of the HT Team Member plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.1.8 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users can enable auto-update functionality for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
