CVE-2025-50014: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability has been identified in the PDPA Consent for Thailand WordPress plugin, affecting versions up to 1.1.1. The vulnerability was discovered by researcher Nguyen Ngoc Quang Bach (maysbachs) and was published on June 19, 2025. This security issue has been assigned CVE-2025-50014 and has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.9 (Medium) (Wiz, Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (CWE-79) that allows for Stored XSS attacks. The CVSS vector string is CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L, indicating that the vulnerability requires administrator privileges to exploit (Wiz).

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects and advertisements, as well as other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

As there is no official fix available for this vulnerability, the recommended mitigation is to remove and replace the software with an alternative solution. It's important to note that merely deactivating the software does not remove the security threat unless a virtual patch is deployed (Patchstack).
