Wiz has created a number of CTFs which are always available for people to play and learn areas of cloud security from. We are now releasing a new CTF which will have one advanced challenge each month. This skips the intro levels and goes straight to the expert level. Each challenge will high-light an area of expertise of one of our researchers.
The different researchers at Wiz are all focused on different ways in which cloud environments are secured. Some researchers are focused on attacking them, some on detecting things in logs, some on incident response, and more. Some researchers are focused on looking for misconfigurations, some on finding applications and libraries with known CVEs, some on finding problems in code, and more. We want to highlight their areas of expertise by developing challenges that show off the deep knowledge of their focuses while teaching the players new concepts.
The first challenge was built by the researcher Scott Piper, who focuses on AWS security. So to solve this challenge, you’ll need to know advanced capabilities of AWS.
Just like our previous CTFs, you’re given an environment with everything you’ll need to solve the challenge. There are hints in case you get stuck, but there is a scoring system that will deduct points when hints are used.
