Technical details
The vulnerability occurs when opening a project, where the Groovy 'Load Script' is automatically executed without proper validation. Additionally, the same issue exists in the 'Save Script' function, which is also automatically executed when saving a project. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.8 (High) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H (NVD).
Impact
The vulnerability allows an attacker to execute arbitrary Groovy Language code (Java scripting language) on the victim's machine by inducing them to open a malicious project file. This could lead to complete system compromise with the same privileges as the application user (NVD).
