Overview

GitLab Enterprise Edition (EE) versions 10.1 through 12.7.2 contained an information disclosure vulnerability where the last pipeline status was visible via the commits API despite restrictions being in place. This vulnerability was discovered by @ashish_r_padelkar and was assigned CVE-2020-7974. The issue was disclosed on January 30, 2020 (GitLab Release).

Technical details

The vulnerability allowed unauthorized access to pipeline status information through the commits API, bypassing existing access restrictions. The issue affected GitLab EE installations from version 10.1 onwards (GitLab Release).

Mitigation and workarounds
