Adobe Illustrator version 25.2 (and earlier) is affected by a memory corruption vulnerability (CVE-2021-21104) when parsing specially crafted AI files. The vulnerability was discovered in February 2021 by FortiGuard Labs and was publicly disclosed on May 11, 2021 (Fortinet Blog, Adobe Security).
The vulnerability is caused by a malformed AI file, which triggers an Out of Bounds Write memory access due to improper bounds check in Adobe Illustrator's file parsing functionality. The vulnerability specifically exists in the decoding of Adobe Illustrator 'AI' files (Fortinet Blog).
