Google Chrome vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2021-21188 is a Use-after-free vulnerability discovered in the Blink component of Google Chrome prior to version 89.0.4389.72. The vulnerability was discovered by Woojin Oh(@pwn_expoit) of STEALIEN and reported on December 24, 2020. This security flaw affects the browser's rendering engine and could allow a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption through a specially crafted HTML page (Chrome Release).

The vulnerability is classified as a Use-after-free (CWE-416) issue in the Blink rendering engine. It has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 8.8 (HIGH), with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H.
