The Countdown and CountUp, WooCommerce Sales Timers WordPress plugin was found to be vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) via the save_theme functionality in versions up to and including 1.5.7. The vulnerability was discovered by researcher Xu-Liang Liao and was disclosed on September 27, 2021 (Wordfence Intel).

The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS score of 8.8 (High) with the vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H. The core issue stems from a missing nonce check in the php file which allows attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts (NVD).
