CVE-2021-34832: 
Foxit PDF Reader vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2021-34832 is a use-after-free vulnerability affecting Foxit PDF Reader version 11.0.0.49893. The vulnerability was discovered and reported by Xu Peng from UCAS and Wang Yanhao from QiAnXin Technology Research Institute, with disclosure coordinated through the Zero Day Initiative on July 30, 2021 (ZDI Advisory).

The vulnerability exists within the handling of the delay property in Foxit PDF Reader. The specific flaw results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS score of 7.8 (AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) (ZDI Advisory).

An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process on affected installations of Foxit PDF Reader (CVE Mitre).

The vulnerability requires user interaction to exploit, specifically the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The vulnerability was reported to the vendor on June 2, 2021, and was publicly disclosed on July 30, 2021 (ZDI Advisory).

Foxit has issued an update to correct this vulnerability. Users should update to the latest version of the software through the official Foxit support website (Foxit Security).
