Overview

LibreNMS v22.6.0 was discovered to contain a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via the component oxidized-cfg-check.inc.php (NVD, MITRE). The vulnerability was identified and disclosed in July 2022.

Technical details

The vulnerability exists in the oxidized-cfg-check.inc.php component where insufficient output sanitization could lead to cross-site scripting attacks. The issue was fixed by implementing proper sanitization of the output (GitHub PR).

Impact

This cross-site scripting vulnerability could allow attackers to inject malicious scripts that would execute in the context of other users' browsers, potentially leading to theft of sensitive information or unauthorized actions on behalf of the victim.
