Bentley View vulnerability analysis and mitigation

Bentley View contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the SKP file parsing functionality. The vulnerability (CVE-2022-43652) was discovered in 2022 and allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability as the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file (ZDI Advisory).

The vulnerability exists within the parsing of SKP files and results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.0 base score of 3.3 (Low) with the vector: AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N (ZDI Advisory).
