WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2022-44634 is an Authenticated (Admin+) Local File Inclusion vulnerability affecting the S2W – Import Shopify to WooCommerce WordPress plugin versions 1.1.12 and below. The vulnerability was discovered and reported by Tomasz Staszyszyn on November 10, 2022 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability stems from the plugin's failure to properly validate files that can be accessed, potentially allowing high-privilege users such as administrators to read arbitrary files from the server. The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS score of 4.9 (medium severity) and is classified under OWASP Top 10 A1: Injection and CWE-552 (WPScan).
