CVE-2023-24398: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Snap Creek Software's EZP Coming Soon Page WordPress plugin versions 1.0.7.3 and below. The vulnerability was reported on January 29, 2023, by security researcher Abdi Pranata and was assigned CVE-2023-24398. This security issue affects authenticated users with administrator privileges (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue, falling under the CWE-79 category (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). It received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 4.8 (Medium) from NIST with a vector string of CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assessed it with a slightly higher CVSS score of 5.9 (Medium) (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject harmful scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. The vulnerability was patched in version 1.0.7.4 of the EZP Coming Soon Page plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.0.7.4 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users have the option to enable auto-updates for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
