CVE-2023-32855: 
NixOS vulnerability analysis and mitigation

CVE-2023-32855 is a security vulnerability discovered in the aee (Android Exception Engine) component affecting various MediaTek chipsets. The vulnerability was disclosed in December 2023 and affects multiple software platforms including Android 12.0, 13.0, OpenWrt 1907, 2102, Yocto 2.6, 3.3, 4.0, and RDK-B 22Q3. The issue impacts numerous MediaTek chipset models including MT2735, MT2737, MT6765, and several others (Vendor Advisory).

The vulnerability is classified as a medium severity issue with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.7. It is categorized as CWE-862 (Missing Authorization) and stems from a missing permission check in the aee component. The vulnerability requires System execution privileges for exploitation, but does not require user interaction (NVD).

If exploited, this vulnerability could lead to local escalation of privilege with System execution privileges. The attacker would need to have local access to the device but would not require user interaction to exploit the vulnerability (Vendor Advisory).
