CVE-2023-42740: 
NixOS vulnerability analysis and mitigation

In telecom service, there is a possible way to write permission usage records of an app due to a missing permission check. This vulnerability (CVE-2023-42740) affects Google Android devices and was disclosed in December 2023. The vulnerability impacts various Android versions (11.0, 12.0, 13.0) and multiple Unisoc hardware platforms including S8000, SC7731E, SC9832E, SC9863A, T310, and T606 (NVD).

The vulnerability is classified as a missing authorization issue (CWE-862) that could lead to local escalation of privilege. It has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 7.8 (HIGH) with the following vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H. The vulnerability requires local access but no additional execution privileges or user interaction for exploitation (NVD).

This vulnerability could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could gain elevated access to write permission usage records of an app, potentially compromising the security of the affected device (NVD).
