CVE-2023-47508: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

An unauthenticated Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the Averta Master Slider Pro WordPress plugin affecting versions 3.6.5 and below. The vulnerability was reported on July 11, 2023, and publicly disclosed on November 7, 2023 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been assigned CVE-2023-47508 and received varying CVSS scores: a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 (Medium) from NVD with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, and a score of 7.1 (High) from Patchstack with vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L. The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) (NVD).

This vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, such as redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website which will be executed when guests visit the site (Patchstack).

Currently, there is no official fix available for this vulnerability. Patchstack has issued a virtual patch to mitigate this issue by blocking any attacks until an official fix becomes available (Patchstack).
