CVE-2023-51669: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in Artios Media Product Code for WooCommerce plugin versions up to 1.4.4. The vulnerability was reported on November 23, 2023, and was assigned CVE-2023-51669. This security issue affects WordPress installations using the Product Code for WooCommerce plugin (Patchstack Advisory).

The vulnerability is classified as an Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation (Cross-site Scripting) issue. It has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (Medium) from NIST with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, while Patchstack assigned it a slightly higher score of 6.5 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow a malicious actor to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack Advisory).

The vulnerability has been patched in version 1.4.5 of the Product Code for WooCommerce plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.4.5 or later to remove the vulnerability (Patchstack Advisory).
