CVE-2023-52193: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

A Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was identified in the WordPress Page Builder: Live Composer plugin, affecting versions up to 1.5.23. The vulnerability was discovered by Ngô Thiên An from VNPT-VCI on December 12, 2023, and was publicly disclosed on January 3, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation) and has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.4 (MEDIUM) from NIST and 6.5 (MEDIUM) from Patchstack. The vulnerability requires low attack complexity, low privileges (Contributor level access), and user interaction, with the attack vector being network-based (NVD).

The vulnerability could allow malicious actors to inject malicious scripts, including redirects, advertisements, and other HTML payloads into the website. These injected scripts would be executed when guests visit the affected site (Patchstack).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 1.5.24 of the Page Builder: Live Composer plugin. Users are advised to update to version 1.5.24 or later to remove the vulnerability. The security issue has been assessed as having a low severity impact and is considered unlikely to be exploited (Patchstack).
