CVE-2024-10233: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The SMS Alert Order Notifications – WooCommerce plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-10233) discovered in versions up to and including 3.7.5. The vulnerability exists in the plugin's sa_subscribe shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes (NVD).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (CWE-79) issue with a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.4 (Medium). The attack vector is network-based (AV:N), requires low attack complexity (AC:L), needs low privileges (PR:L), requires no user interaction (UI:N), and has a changed scope (S:C) with low confidentiality and integrity impacts (C:L, I:L) and no availability impact (A:N) (NVD).

When successfully exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page (NVD).

Users should update to a version newer than 3.7.5 of the SMS Alert Order Notifications – WooCommerce plugin to address this vulnerability (NVD).
