Overview
The Chat Support for Viber – Chat Bubble and Chat Button for Gutenberg, Elementor and Shortcode plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in versions up to and including 1.7.2. The vulnerability was discovered and reported by Wordfence, with disclosure on January 7, 2025 (NVD).
Technical details
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'vchat' shortcode.
