CVE-2024-13157: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The MP3 Audio Player – Music Player, Podcast Player & Radio by Sonaar plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-13157) that affects all versions up to and including 5.9.3. The vulnerability was discovered and disclosed on January 31, 2025 (NVD).

The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes specifically in the Podcast RSS Feed functionality. The issue has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.4 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N, indicating a network-exploitable vulnerability with low attack complexity requiring low privileges (NVD).

When exploited, this vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These malicious scripts will execute whenever a user accesses the compromised page (NVD).

Users should update to a version newer than 5.9.3 of the MP3 Audio Player plugin to remediate this vulnerability. The issue has been addressed in subsequent releases through improved input sanitization and output escaping (NVD).
