CVE-2024-13422: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The SEO Blogger to WordPress Migration using 301 Redirection plugin for WordPress contains a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVE-2024-13422) that affects all versions up to and including 0.4.8. The vulnerability was discovered and reported by Wordfence (Wordfence Advisory).

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the 'url' parameter. This results in a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, classified as CWE-79 (Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation). The vulnerability has been assigned a CVSS v3.1 base score of 6.1 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N (NVD).

If successfully exploited, this vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when users perform specific actions, such as clicking on a malicious link. This could lead to theft of sensitive information, session hijacking, or other malicious actions performed in the context of the affected user's browser (Wordfence Advisory).

A patch has been made available in the WordPress plugin repository (WordPress Patch). Users are advised to update to the latest version of the plugin when it becomes available.
