CVE-2024-22153: 
WordPress vulnerability analysis and mitigation

The Stock Locations for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress contains a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability (CVE-2024-22153) affecting versions up to and including 2.5.9. The vulnerability was discovered by researcher Mika and publicly disclosed on January 16, 2024 (Patchstack).

The vulnerability is classified as a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (CWE-79) issue that occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the admin settings. The vulnerability has received a CVSS v3.1 base score of 5.9 (Medium) with the vector string CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:L (WPScan).

This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The impact is particularly relevant for multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled (WPScan).

The vulnerability has been fixed in version 2.6.0 of the Stock Locations for WooCommerce plugin. Users are advised to update to version 2.6.0 or later to remove the vulnerability. Patchstack users can enable auto-update for vulnerable plugins (Patchstack).
